Mission Statement:
The mission of the Costilla County Public Library is to be responsive to the needs of the Costilla County residents and visitors in the area of library services. This includes providing materials and services to all ages for personal enrichment and educational and professional needs. This is accomplished by providing books, periodicals, electronic media, and office services to our patrons.
Services and Opportunities:
- Books from either the library's stock or special requests from InterLibrary Services (a lending relationship with other libraries in Colorado). Audio, large print books, and movies can be checked out as well.
- Computer Center with high-speed Internet access and other office programs for patron and visitor use.
- Office Services include copying, faxing, printing, and assistance with Internet and other computer questions.
- Programs for children and adults are regularly offered, including weekly story time for preschoolers and a book club for adults. Watch for other program offerings.
- Partnerships with the local schools and organizations in the county facilitate program development and resource pooling to better meet community needs.
- Volunteers are needed and welcomed at either of our branches, please inquire if you are interested.
- Monetary donations and gifts of books, periodicals, audio, or video material are greatly appreciated.
The CCPL and its Board of Directors are grateful to the members of our community for their use of library services, their involvement in our activities, and their generous donations of time, money, and materials. We are working diligently to acquire funding that will enable us to expand operating hours, services, and develop new programs for individuals of all ages.
We offer a special thanks to the Costilla County Commissioners and their staff, the Superintendents of both Centennial and Sierra Grande Schools, and the Director of the Blanca-Fort Garland Community Center for their partnership in technology and sharing of resources. We would not be in a position to do as much without you!
